Effective 19 July 2026 · Replaces the version dated 13 July 2026
This privacy policy applies to the From the Baseline app for mobile devices, together with any related services operated by WelshDAG (collectively, the "Application"). WelshDAG is hereby referred to as the "Service Provider".
Community features (chat, friends, profiles) require a free account. When you register, we collect:
| Data | Why we collect it |
|---|---|
| Full name | Account records and password security checks. Never shown to other users. |
| Email address | Your login identifier, account verification, password resets and important notices. Never shown to other users. |
| Date of birth | Verifying you meet the minimum age of 13 (see section 13) and password security checks. Never shown to other users. |
| Country | Shown on your profile by default — you can hide it in the app at any time (Menu > Account). |
| Username | Your public identity in the Application. Visible to other users. |
| Password | Securing your account. Stored only as a cryptographic hash — we cannot see your password. |
Location metadata (EXIF) is automatically removed from profile pictures when you upload them.
Other users of the Application can see your username, profile picture, bio, player status, tennis club, and country (unless you have chosen to hide your country in the app settings).
Other users can never see your full name, email address, date of birth, or password.
To keep the community safe, all content you post — chat messages, direct messages, profile pictures, bios and club names — is stored on our servers and automatically scanned by our moderation system ("BaselineBot"). Content that breaks our community rules (abuse, hate speech, spam, sharing of personal information, and similar) may be automatically removed, and repeated breaches may result in temporary mutes or account bans.
With your permission, the Application sends push notifications for match alerts, live scores, ranking changes, tennis news, new podcast episodes, chat messages and friend requests. You can switch each category — or all notifications — on or off at any time in the app (Menu > Notifications) and in your device settings.
The Application or its third-party SDKs may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, and similar technologies to support functionality, analytics, or service delivery. Where required by applicable law, the Service Provider will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies.
If you are in the United Kingdom or European Economic Area, we process your personal data under the UK GDPR / EU GDPR on the following lawful bases: performance of a contract (providing your account and the Application's features), legitimate interests (keeping the community safe through moderation, and securing the service), legal obligation (where retention or disclosure is required by law) and consent (optional notifications and any marketing).
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact Lukepashill@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. The Service Provider does not sell your personal information. To exercise your CCPA/CPRA rights, contact the Service Provider at Lukepashill@gmail.com.
The Service Provider may use the information you provide to send important information, required notices, and, where permitted by law, marketing communications.
Only aggregated, anonymized data is periodically transmitted to external analytics services to aid the Service Provider in improving the Application. Trusted service providers (such as hosting, push notification delivery and automated content moderation providers) process personal data on the Service Provider's behalf, under contract, and may not use it for their own purposes.
The Application utilizes third-party services that have their own privacy policies. Below is a link to the privacy policy of the third-party service provider used by the Application:
The Service Provider or its third-party service providers may transfer personal data to countries outside your country of residence, including outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA). Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, the Service Provider will use appropriate mechanisms, such as:
Data protection laws in other countries may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required by law, the Service Provider will apply appropriate safeguards and obtain any consent required for the transfer.
The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:
You can stop further collection of information by uninstalling the Application. Uninstalling does not delete information already held — to delete your account and personal data, use the in-app account deletion option or contact Lukepashill@gmail.com.
When your account is deleted, your profile, personal details and friends list are erased, and your chat messages are deleted or anonymized so they are no longer linked to you, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate moderation-safety purposes.
You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to any legal obligation to retain it, by contacting Lukepashill@gmail.com. Please note that some User Provided Data may be required for the Application to function properly.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Your date of birth is used at registration to verify this. If the date of birth provided shows the user is under 13, account creation is declined and the information submitted is not stored.
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, it will be deleted immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and are aware that your child has provided the Service Provider with personal information, please contact Lukepashill@gmail.com so that the necessary action can be taken.
The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information and provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information it processes and maintains. This includes encryption of data in transit, storage of passwords only as cryptographic hashes, and restricted access to moderation records.
If a data breach occurs that affects your personal data, the Service Provider will notify you in accordance with applicable legal requirements, including, where required, providing information about the nature of the breach and the steps being taken to address it.
The Service Provider may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Privacy Policy with an effective date. Where required by law, the Service Provider will seek your consent to material changes before they take effect.
Previous versions of this Privacy Policy will be maintained and made available upon request by contacting Lukepashill@gmail.com.
This privacy policy is effective as of 19 July 2026.
Where processing is based on consent, you provide that consent by affirmatively opting in to the relevant feature or action. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal. Processing based on other lawful bases is carried out as described above.
If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about these practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at Lukepashill@gmail.com.
